Abstract
As one of the important sorts of hot-rolled products,hot-rolled steel plates for automobile generally undergo uniform corrosion or localized corrosion according to various environments in the manufacturing, transportation and/or storage processes. The general corrosion, often taking place on the outer surface of the plate in the outside part of a package, only reduces the thickness of plates and increases the surface roughness slightly, but the localized corrosion on the surface of the plate inside the package is likely to result in the formation of pits on the substrate of plates, which is not able to be removed by the general pickling or sand blasting process and influences the application of these plates. The phenomena, characteristics and influencing factors of the rusting behavior of hot-rolled steel plates for automobile are analyzed and the corresponding preventing measures are proposed.
