Failure Analysis for the Rupture of Segregator Pipeline in Diesel Hydrofining Unit
The methods of visual inspection,metallographic analysis,direct reading spectrometric analysis,SEM and EDS were adopted to study the rupture of a segregator pipeline in diesel hydrofining unit.Results indicated that sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC) was the main reason for the cracking of pipeline steel.It is suggesed to reselect the material or heat treatment for the pipeline.
