CO2 Corrosion Resistance of L80 Casing Steel before and after Expansion

    • Expandable tubular techlology is a new technology in the well engineering industry. The microstructure of L80 casing tubes expanded by 16% and 22% respectively was studied before and after expansion. The corrosion behaviors were studied by weight-loss method in autoclave and electrochemical tests before and after tube expansion. The electrochemical characteristics showed that the corrosion potential became more negative after the expansion deformation, and Icorr increased with the increase of the amount of deformation. The results matched well with the results of weight-loss experiment.
