Corrosion of Mg-Li Alloy in Solution of Simulating Human Body Fluid

    • The corrosion behavior of Mg-Li alloy in simulating human body fluid solution was investigated by electrochemical methods. The corrosion morphology was analyzed by SEM, and the average corrosion rate was detected by weight loss method. The results showed that the corrosion of Mg-Li alloy was hydrogen corrosion; with the increase of time, the corrosion of Mg-Li alloy was restricted. The electrochemical reaction resistance was 20 times larger than that of Mg-Li alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution of pH=7. After 24 hours corrosion, there were still many areas not corroded in the surface; the corrosion surface of Mg-Li alloy became black and there were many small and shallow corrosion pits on it.
