Submarine Transportation Pipeline Safety Assessment System and Its Application

    • Submarine pipeline failure can cause serious consequences. There are many risk factors affecting the security of submarine pipelines. According to reference standards, combined with on-site inspection and theoretical analysis and calculation, this study created a systematic method for assessing the current safety of submarine pipelines. Based on project example in Chengbei oil field, the influences of factors such as corrosion, operation pressure, operation temperature and minimum wall thickness were analyzed. DNV-OS-F101 for submarine pipeline systems and DNV-RP-F101 for corroded pipeline were used to evaluate the permissible stress and residual strength, the safe operation of submarine pipeline was assessed by on-site inspection and combined with these four factors. This system was effectively used to assess the reliability of the submarine pipelines in Chengbei oil field.
