Abstract
In the presence of SiC nanoparticles, using aniline monomer as raw material, ammonium persulfate as oxidant, polyaniline/nano SiC composite was prepared by chemical oxidation polymerization method. The morphology and structure of product was characterized by SEM, XRD, UV-vis etc. The carbon steel pieces coated with polyaniline and polyaniline/nano SiC composite were soaked in 3.5% sodium chloride solution. Anticorrosion performance of the coating was evaluated by open circuit potential, polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that corrosion resistance of carbon steel with the coating containing polyaniline/SiC composites filler ingredients was much stronger than that containing polyaniline, the former showed the highest corrosion potential, minimum corrosion current density; while the bare steel corrosion potential was minimum and corrosion current density was maximum.
