    Development and Prospect in Numerical Simulation of Erosion

    • Several classic erosion theoretical models are summarized, the advantages and disadvantages of each model are analyzed. It is considered that there is no generally accepted and universally applicable theoretical model to predict material erosion wear resistance. By analysis of the numerical erosion models at home and abroad, it is found that there are few numerical erosion models involving the effect of temperature, and there is still a wide gap between the multi-particle erosion simulation and the actual conditions. In addition, the key issues of erosion simulation including the material constitutive models, failure criteria, numerical algorithms and contact algorithms are introduced. At last, the research directions of erosion in the future are proposed.
