Corrosion and Protection of Jacket Tubes in LDPE Reactor

    • The perforation and corrosion of jacket tubes in a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) reactor occured repeatedly. By corrosion morphology, chemical component analysis and ANSYS CFX’s simulation calculation, it was revealed that oxygen corrosion and cavitation corrosion were the main reasons of the leakage. Based on the analysis result, some anticorrosion methords were proposed.
