Abstract
The prime factor of shortening the life of reinforced concrete structures in marine is the corrosion of rebars. There are several ways to slow down or eliminate the corrosion of rebars in the structures. The most commonly used and effective protective method is cathodic protection (CP) including the impressed current method and the sacrificial anode method. This article focuses on the newest overseas cathodic protection methods and introduces the performance and service life of CP.
