Materials Selection for Safety Accessories of Storage Tanks in Tahe Oilfield

With the influence of thermal precipitation, temperature difference between day and night, and so on, the crude oil in the tank will volatilize H2S in the oil which can cause the corrosion of safety accessories of the storage tanks, and then form FeS which may lead spontaneous combustion. This brings unsafe hidden danger to field production. In this paper, aming at the crude oil of Tahe oilfield possesses, the characteristic of high hydrogen sulfide, the mechanism of steel tank corrosion caused by H2S and the reason of FeS spontaneous combustion are analyzed. According to the analyses of the application of different material safety accessories, materials of safety accessories applied to Tahe oilfield are put forward.
