Abstract
The Mo2NiB2 ternary boride ceramic coating was in-situ prepared on the surface of Q235 steel by laser cladding. The microstructure and corrosion behavior of the coating were investigated by SEM, immersion and electrochemical methods. The results showed that the coating exhibited good metallurgical bond at the interface, no obvious cracks and holes were found, and the reinforced phase distribution was uniform. Compared with the substrate, the coating showed one-forth corrosion current density and the corrosion potential shifted positively in 3.5% NaCl solution, indicating that the coating significantly improved the corrosion resistance of the substrate.
