Abstract
The n-octadecyl dimethylallyl ammonium chloride(DAOAAC) was synthesized from n-octadecyldimethylamine(OTA) by quaterisation with allylchloride(AC).The effects of raw material composition, reaction temperature, reaction time and solvent on the yield were studied. The optimum reaction conditions were established.the DAOAAC was quantitatively determined by the two phase chemical titration using bromophenol blue as the indicator and dichloroethane as phase spiltting agent. Its physicochemical properties and virulence were characterized by IR spectrum, elementary analysis, melting point determination apparatus, microscopy and skin stick experiment.Thin layer chromatography(TLC) method was used to trace the synthesis and purity of the cationic antibacterial.
