Abstract
The corrosion rate of zinc in 3.5% NaCl solution was measured by Tafel, linear polarization and weak polarization curve method. The measured results were analyzed and compared in detail by calculating the standard deviation. The effects of scan rate and scan range on the measurement of corrosion rate were investigated. The results show that the corrosion rate of zinc can be obtained by weak polarization curve method with lower standard deviation, while Tafel and linear polarization curve method always bring larger error. The effects of scan rate and scan range on the precision of measurement were also analyzed in this paper.
