Abstract
The effect of shot peening on stress corrosion cracking properties of alloy 800 was tested using C-ring specimens under constant loads in 10% NaOH solution at 315 ℃ for 500 h. The results show that specimens without shot peening and with lower peening coverages showed different levels of stress corrosion cracking. With the increase of shot peening coverage, the resistance to stress corrosion cracking increases obviously.
