Corrosion and Protection of Underground Gas-storing Wells in Compressed Natural Gas Filling Stations

    • The underground gas-storing wells in compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations are deeply buried and more attentions should be paid to their corrosion after being used for a few years because the safe operation of compressed natural gas filling stations is dependent on corrosion. On account of the situation that corrosion may occur on inner and outer walls of underground gas-storing wells,an underground gas-storing well had been chosen as a sample and the corrosion occurred on inner and outer walls had been studied by means of SEM/EDX.The results showed that serious corrosion had taken place near inner and outer walls of the well. The corrosion causes were studied.According to the analysis results, some effective measures for corrosion control were proposed for underground gas-storing wells in compressed natural gas filling stations.
