    • Cathodic protection technology as the necessary supplementary means may provide economic and effective corrosion control together with protective coatings for buried pipelines.But in the complicated frozen earth area,epecially in the area of circularly alternanting change yearly or seasonly between the freeze and thaw,the engineering design of cathodic protection is difficult due to the sharp changing of soil resistivity.The studies on the cathodic protection program and the selection of anode materials for the buried pipeline in frozen earth area of Alaska are introduced in this paper,It can provide necessary references for selection and appliation of the cathodic protection design for the Sino-Russia pipeline to be build in frozen earth area in China.
