PREDICTING LIFE OF GALVANIZED STEEL ON INTERNET

The ability to predict corrosion life has always been important for effective application of galvanized steel products.In this paper,an Internet based software developed to predict the life of zinc coatings is introduced.The scientific methodology and development process for the prediction models are described.Considerations for the design of the software with regard to scientific clarity,requirements of end users,and scope of application are discussed.An evaluation of the accuracy of prediction using recently published data is presented.
