Influence Factors of Cathodic Protection Current Density Values in Oilfield Wastewater

    • In cathodic protection (CP) design, the current density value is a very important parameter. It is proved that there are many factors affecting the current density value. In order to find out influencing factors of CP current density value in liquid media, a batch of experiments were carried out using Parstat 2273 electrochemical system in lab. The influences of temperature, pH and cathodic polarization level on CP current density value were studied, respectively. The testing results show that temperature, pH and cathodic polarization level are major factors for the current density value.
