Corrosion Resistance of Ion-beam Assisted Deposited Thin Tin Film in Simulated Mouth Solution

Abstract
The thin TiN film was prepared on the substrate of dental Fe-Cr-Mo alloy using ion-beam assisted deposition (IBAD) method.In the simulated mouth solution,the corrosion potential,corrosion current density,polarization resistance and dynamic polarization curves were measured.The blank Fe-Cr-Mo alloy substrate was used as comparison material.The results showed that the Fe-Cr-Mo alloy with TiN film had better corrosion resistance than the alloy without IBAD treatment.When the nitrogen flux rate was 1.5 cm3/min and the treating time was 4 hours,the TiN thin film had the best corrosion resistance in the simulated mouth solution.
