Abstract
Using peregal-O solution as the solvent, a new quinoline quaternary ammonium acidification inhibitor was synthesized by quaternization of quinoline and alkyl halides. The synthesized inhibitor QL-1 were characterized with infrared spectrometer, static weight loss and electrochemical polarization curves and EIS for the performance evaluation and electrochemical corrosion mechanism analysis. Infrared spectroscopy proved that the products met the pre-set structure of the molecular structure. The static weight loss method results show that with concentration of the inhibitor increasing, the corrosion rate of P110 steel specimens in 15% and 20% hydrochloric acid decreased; with the increase of corrosion time and temperature the corrosion rate of P110 steel specimen in hydrochloric acid increased. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and polarization curves results show that the corrosion inhibitor formed a protective film on the surface of the steel, and suppressed the cathodic reaction. The action mechanism is a "negative catalytic effect " of the mixed inhibitor.
