Erosion Cause of Condenser Copper Tubes in a Thermal Power Plant

    • The continual leakage of condenser in a seaside power plant was caused by severe erosion in the mouth of pipe of BFe-30-1-1 copper tubes.By using the dynamic simulating electrochemical corrosion device made by ourselves, the changes of flow velocity and corrosion rate in circulating water before and after cathodic protection were studied. The results indicated that erosion was caused primarily by the scouring in the range of 0~150 mm to the mouth of pipe, and could be prevented by cathodic protection.
