    Failure Analyses of Leakage of Methylamine Device Heat Exchanger Tubes

    • The leakage failure of methylamine device heat exchanger tubes were analyzed by means of corroded surface morphology analysis,microstructure analysis,mechanical property testing,EDS chemical composition analysis,fracture surface analysis and electrochemical testing.The results showed that the leakage reason of heat exchanger tubes was erosion corrosion induced by washing action of violent evaporation of methylamine and thermal softening of the material at the perforation location jointly.Countermeasures of coating or changing materials are suggested.
