Abstract
The protection effect of sodium pyrophosphate in alkaline simulated concrete pore solution was studied by potentio dynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The corrosion potential of steel in concrete increased with the addtion of sodium pyrophosphate. Sodium pyrophosphate inhibited the corrosion of steel in concrete by suppressing the anodic reaction. And inhibiting rate increased with increasing the concentration of sodium pyrophosphate in the solution. The inhibition effect (IE) increased to 97.7% when the concentration of sodium pyrophosphate was 0.03 mol/L.
