    Layout Optimization of Cathodic Protection System of Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline

    • Buried gas pipeline may suffer corrosion because they may pass through various types of soil, rivers and lakes. Corrosion is the biggest hidden danger for safe operation of buried pipelines. A gas gathering pipeline system in Ordos is protected by anti-corrosion coatings and impressed current cathodic protection technology. To evaluate and optimize the operation status of the system, a model conforming to the present situation was established by using ANSYS software based on the running data. Cathodic protection optimization scheme was proposed by using the model, and then it was evaluated. The results show that the protection effect is good.
