Analysis and Protection of Internal Corrosion for Submarine Pipelines of Oil and Gas

Submarine pipelines are the main carrier of offshore oil and gas gathering and transferring. And they are generally carbon steel, which are susceptible to internal corrosion and cause pipeline leakage failure. In order to reduce the risk of pipeline corrosion damage, from the view of integrity in whole life cycle management, this paper analyzes the causes and mechanism of internal corrosion for submarine pipelines of oil and gas, and puts forward the protective measures in each stage of design material selection, pipe making, construction, operation and maintenance.
