APPLICATION OF GRID ANODE TO CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR LARGE-SCALE STORAGE TANKS

The applications of MMO (mixed metal oxide) grid anodes to large-scale storage tanks in Maoming,Zhanjiang,Lanshan and Shanghai are summarized.From the practical results,the protection potentials and protection current densities meet the design requirements and are in accord with technical standards.The distribution of protection potentials on the tank bottom is quite uniform.It indicates that the grid anode system is effective for the large-scale storage tank protection from corrosion.Other problems encountered are also discussed.
