Abstract
A Ti thin film on the surface of 304 stainless steel was prepared by DC magnetron sputtering. The film thickness could have 15 μm after sputtering for 5 min. The corrosion rate in FeCl3 environment was compared and studied between 304 stainless steel before coating and after coating. The microstructure morphology after corrosion was observed by microscopic examination. The corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel in chloride environment was effectively improved by the Ti thin film on the surface of 304 stainless steel prepared by DC magnetron sputtering for at least 5 min.
