    Applicability of Tungsten Nickel Alloy Coated Tubing

    • In order to study the feasibility of tungsten nickel alloy coating used as an anti-corrosion technology for the sour gas well tubing, tungsten nickel alloy coating was prepared on the surfaces and inner wall of P110S tubing. Anti-corrosion performance and connection performance of tubing joints were evaluated by test simulating high concentration H2S and CO2 environment and field test respectively. The results of autoclave simulation tests showed that tungsten nickel alloy coating had good corrosion resistance in high H2S and CO2 gas well environments. The results of sulfide stress cracking (SSC) tests showed that the coating did not affect the base material resistance to SSC. Full scale tests of tubing joints based on ISO 13679 standard showed that tungsten nickel alloy coating exhibited excellent anti-galling performance and had no influence on the sealing performance.
