SYNTHESIS AND INHIBITION MECHANISM OF AN IMIDAZOLINE CORROSION INHIBITOR

Abstract
Imidazoline corrosion inhibitor YQ-01 was synthesized with hexadecanoic acid,diethylene triamine,maleic acid anhydride.And YQ-03 carbon dioxide corrosion resistant system was got by using YQ-01 compounded with YQ-02.Weight-loss method,electrochemical polarization and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to study the electrochemical properties of YQ-03.The product on the surface of A3 steel after corroded by carbon dioxide with addition of YQ-03 inhibitor was analyzed.The inhibiting mechanism of YQ-03 was studied.The compounded system of major inhibitor YQ-01 and assistant inhibitor YQ-02 had good synergic action and corrosion resistance to carbon dioxide due to the formation of corrosion products with three layers produced on the surface of A3 steel.
