Abstract
Calcium alginate containers loaded with corrosion inhibitor used in oilfield and heavy additive were prepared with piercing-solidifying method. The morphology and structure of containers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). The effect of heavy additive′s amount on the sinking was investigated. And the releasing of containers was investigated by ultraviolet spectrophotometer and potentiodynamic polarization. The results showed that the sinking of containers was accelerated by the introduction of heavy additive. The containers released inhibitor gradually in the processes of swelling and splintering. Thus, the inhibitor sinks with the container and prevents down-hole facilities from corrosion.
