ANALYSES OF A CORROSION FAILURE CASE IN WATER SUPPLY PIPES

A corrosion failure case in water supply pipes was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),water quality mensuration,electrochemical testing and macroscopical observation of corrosion pits.There were two reasons that resulted in the corrosion failure case.The most important one was disqualification of the jointing quality.The other was nonuniformity in thickness of the rolled material.
