Tolerant Coating for Transmission Tower Protection

Abstract
Because the rust cleaning grade is not high and the adhesion between the coating and substrate surface is poor in the process of corrosion protection for transmission towers, a converted-stabilized surface-tolerant coating was developed for a hot-dip galvanized steel with corroded surface. The function of each component was analyzed. The influence of zinc phosphate consumption, lamellar zinc powder consumption, rust converter consumption and coating thickness on coating properties was studied. The prepared coating showede good corrosion resistance and good workability in laboratory tests and outdoor applications.
