Numerical Calculation of Nozzle Erosion-Corrosion in the Course of Hydraulic Fracturing

    • Nozzle is the most important part of hydraulic fracturing. In the course of construction, nozzle is prone to be damaged by erosion-corrosion and thus its service life becomes shorter. A mathematical model of nozzle’s erosion-corrosion was built by computational fluid dynamics method to study how the inlet pressure, sand content, particle size and density and liquid viscosity influence the shear stress of nozzle wall under the condition of constant corrosivity of the media. The results show that the erosion-corrosion of inlet is the most serious, the inlet pressure and sand content have great impact on the wall shear stress of nozzle wall.
