    Processing Performance and Corrosion Resistance of 445 Ferritic Stainless Steel

    • The main chemical composition, mechanical properties, forming performance and welding performance of 445 ferritic stainless steel were compared with those of 304 austenitic stainless steel. The results show that 445 stainless steel has good machining performance. The anti-corrosion performance of solar-powered waters containing 445 water tanks, 304 water tanks or water tanks mable of both steels, respectively were studied by salt spray tests and 10% NaCl solution accelerated corrosion tests. The results show that the corrosion resistance of 445 stainless steel is less than that of 304. Under the condition of 80 ~ 120 ℃, both 445 and 304 stainless steels suffered steam corrosion, water line corrosion, and 445 stainless steel suffered serious pitting corrosion.
