Current Status and Development of External Anti-corrosion Coating Technology for Long Distance Transmission Pipelines

External coating is an important anti-corrosion method of steel pipes for gas or oil long-distance transmission pipelines.This paper summarizes the general situation of external coatings and compares the technological characteristics of commonly used external coatings.The new trends of external coatings and the research contents that should be intensified in the future are put forward.
