Effects of Strain Rate and Environment Medium on Stress Corrosion Cracking of Zn-Cu-Ti Alloy

    • The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behaviors of extruded Zn-1.0Cu-0.2Ti (wt%)alloy in air, piped water and 3.5%NaCl were investigated by slow strain rate test (SSRT)method and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the effect of slow strain rate on SCC susceptibility was studied. The results show that the SCC susceptibility of Zn-Cu-Ti alloy was the most serious at 1×10-6s-1. The SCC susceptibility was less serious in piped water and 3.5% NaCl solution compared with that in air at the strain rate of 1×10-6s-1.
