    Inhibition Effect of Triazole-type Compound PMT on Mild Steel Corrosion in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 Solution

    • A new corrosion inhibitor of triazole-type compound 1-phenylacetimino-2-mercapto-5-[1-(1,3,4-triazolyl)-methene]-1,3,4-triazoles (PMT) has been synthesized and its inhibiting action on the corrosion of Q235 steel in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 has been investigated by weight loss measurements,potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM).The PMT showed very excellent inhibition performance and behaved as a mixed-type inhibitor.
