Effect of Electrochemical Polarization on Stress Corrosion Cracking Susceptibility of 2D12 Aluminum Alloy

    • The susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of 2D12 aluminum alloy was investigated using slow strain rate test (SSRT).The effect of electrochemical polarization on the SCC susceptibility of 2D12 aluminum alloy was also investigated. The results show that 2D12 aluminum alloy is sensitive to SCC.The anodic polarization has obvious effect on SCC than the cathodic polarization. The SCC mechanism for 2D12 aluminum alloy is mainly anodic dissolution.
