    Adsorption Behaviour of New Triazole Derivative as Inhibitor on Mild Steel in Acid Medium

    • Pentanophenone-O-1-(1.3.4- triazolyl)-metheneoxime(POTM) has been synthesized as a new corrosion inhibitor of mild steel in acid media.The inhibition efficiency was evaluated by means of weight loss,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization curves.The surface morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The thermodynamic parameters were determined and discussed.The relationship between molecular structure of the compound and the inhibition efficiency was investigated by ab initio quantum chemistry calculations.The adsorption of triazole derivatives was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
