An Electrochemical Study on Corrosion Behavior of Submarine Pipe

Abstract
Corrosion law of submarine pipeline was studied by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results showed that in the open seawater corrosion rate of samples was rapid and severe near the cracks, but was relatively light the corrosion away from cracks. In the simulated seabed testing environment, an opposite corrosion law was shown, the nearer the samples from the cracks, the slower the corrosion rate.
