    Selection and Testing of Heavy Anti-corrosion Coatings in Chloride Corrosion Environments

    • Serious atmospheric corrosion resulting in coating blistering of the equipment happened in a chlor-alkali plant. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and salt spray test were used to screen four kinds of heavy anti-corrosion system. The results all show that three kinds of tested heavy-duty anti-corrosion system are better than the currently used heavy-duty anti-corrosion system. The heavy-duty anti-corrosion system composed of epoxy zinc rich primer/epoxy intermediate coat of iron cloud/Hardtop AS is the best anti-corrosion system.
