A Study of Simulated Indoor Accelerated Testing Method for Marine Atmospheric Corrosion

    • The correlation of indoor cyclic immersion corrosion test and outdoor marine atmospheric corrosion test was studied by comparing and evaluating the corrosion morphologies, corrosion products, corrosion kinetics and corrosion mechanism quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the corrosion morphologies and compositions of corrosion products after cyclic immersion test agreed with those after the real atmospheric test. In addition, the environment factors especially atmospheric humidity and pollution need to be considered in cyclic immersion test, because of the synergy between different environment factors. The cyclic immersion corrosion test had good acceleration in simulating the actual marine atmospheric environment.
