Corrosion Behavior of 45# Carbon Steel in Three Different Kinds of Waters from a Washery

    • Taking the water in the coal mines of Yongcheng in Henan povince as a research subject, the corrosion behaviors of 45# carbon steel in clean water, circulating water and mine water were studied by weight loss method, electrochemical tests and XRD. The results show that 45# carbon steel in these three types of water all had different degrees of corrosion, and the corrosion degree sequence was as follows: mine water > circulating water > clean water. XRD analysis results show that the corrosion product in three kinds of water is rust, and its main ingrediens is Fe3O4 and FeO(OH), indicating that the electrochemical corrosion process of the anode was mainly iron dissolution process.
