    Finite Element Simulation Analysis of Grooving Corrosion in Pipeline

    • ANSYS finite element simulation method was used to analyze the localized corrosion in pipelines, and the grooving corrosion was taken as an example to simulate the pipline operational state in the practical work environment by the steps of setting up model, meshing, loading loads and constraints, and post processing. The stress and deformation displacement′s of grooving corrosion area under the given operating pressure were calculated. Simulation results show that the stress and the deformation displacement of long pipeline in the corrosion area can be as a reference to evaluate the defects in the long pipeline.
