Effect of Mn2+ on Phosphating of Galvanized Steel

    • The phosphating process of galvanized steel in phosphating solution with different contents of Mn2+ was investigated by means of open circuit potential-time curves and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The results showed that Mn2+ in phosphating solution could decrease the initial potential of phosphating and promote the formation of phosphating coating. When the content of Mn(NO3)2 in phosphating solution was 0.6 g/L,the crystals of the phosphate were fine and the phosphating coating formed was uniform and compact.
