Abstract
Synthesis of palmityl amide using palmitic acid and ethylenediamine as raw materials has been studied. The structure of product was characterized by IR and its thermal stabilization was tested by TG/DTA.Its inhibition performance for CO2 corrosion was studied by weight loss measurement and electrochemical measurement. The product had good thermal stability before 160 ℃,and the inhibition efficiency reached up to 83% for CO2 corrosion of X65 mild steel when the mass concentration of the inhibitor was 0.20 g/L.The results of polarization curves revealed that the product was an anodic type inhibitor for CO2 corrosion, and EIS showed that the inhibition was due to the blocking effect.
