Abstract
The corrosion inhibition effects of EDTA-2Na(C10H14N2O8Na2),diethylamino ethanol((C2H5)2NCH2CH2OH),calcium gluconate((C2H5)2NCH2CH2OH) and disodium hydrogen phosphate(Na2HPO4) on mild steel were investigated in 3.5% NaCl solution at 298K by using potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and SEM methods. The results showed that all the inhibitors are anodic type inhibitors, the inhibitive efficiency followed the order: Na2HPO4>Ca(C6H11O7)2>C10H14N2O8Na2>(C2H5)2NCH2CH2OH.The inhibitors could be adsorbed on mild steel to inhibit corrosion effectively.
