Abstract
The influence of water content in soil on corrosion behavior of Q235 steel was studied by electrochemical techniques using a self-made simulated soil corrosion experimental device. The change of natural corrosion potential and the corresponding polarization curves with different soil water contents were tested. The results indicate that the natural corrosion potential of Q235 steel in simulated soil decreased with the increase of water content; and the soil water content also had a great effect on the soil corrosion rate which increased with the water content in certain extent and reached its maximum when the water content was about 28%.
