Anti-corrosion Performance of FBE Coatings with Addition of Polyaniline Powders

    • Polyaniline composites were prepared by ultrasonic assisted chemical oxidation method, with aniline as monomer and ammonium persulfate as oxidizing agent. After the composites were mixed with fusion bonded epoxy(FBE), a compound coating was prepared on Q235 steel surface by electric spraying technology. The anti-corrosion performance of the coating in simulated seawater solution for different immersion durations was studied by EIS. The results indicate that the anti-corrosion performance of the FBE coating was strengthened with increasing the content of polyaniline when the added content of polyaniline was relatively low. The best performance was obtained when the content of polyaniline was 5%, but the anti-corrosion performance became worse when the content of polyaniline was 10% because the coating was not adhesive enough to fill the space between the polyaniline powders.
