Present Situation of Corrosion and Protection of Buildings in Saline Soil and Salt Lake Environments

There are problems of chloride ions corroding steel and sulfate ions and magnesium ions corroding concrete in salt lake water and saline soil environments. This paper introduces the distribution of salt lake and saline soil areas, the corrosion characteristics and the harm caused by corrosion of salt lake water and saline soil in China. The status quo of anti-corrosion measures and theory research in salt lake water and saline soil environments is reviewed. It is pointed out that the further research work on the corrosion and protection of construction in saline soil and salt lake environments needs to be continued.
